Leave Reykjavík behind in your private 4x4 and travel beneath volcanoes and glaciers toward some of the country's most dramatic natural landmarks.
Walk towards Seljalandsfoss, where conditions permitting you can stand behind its curtain of falling water. Feel the weight of Skógafoss, then continue to Sólheimajökull, where ancient glacier ice descends between volcanic mountains.
Further east, Reynisfjara opens up: black volcanic shoreline, basalt columns and towering sea stacks. But this day is about more than ticking off landmarks — your guide is free to stop whenever the landscape demands it. A sudden change in light, Icelandic horses beside the road, a hidden waterfall that larger vehicles simply drive past.
Good to know
Approximately 10 hours. The itinerary may be adjusted for weather and road conditions. Reynisfjara is beautiful but can be dangerous due to unpredictable sneaker waves; your guide decides where it is safe to stand and walk. Optional experiences such as glacier walks or premium dining can be added when arranging your private itinerary.
What to bring
Waterproof clothing, warm layers and sturdy footwear. Gloves and a hat are recommended outside the warmest summer months.
