Northern Lights Chase
We don't follow a predetermined Northern Lights route. We follow the sky.
Before departure and throughout the evening we study cloud cover, aurora activity and shifting weather to find your best opportunity. That can mean heading east, west or north from Reykjavík — and changing the plan mid-evening as conditions move.
Inside the warm RAM 3500 your group travels comfortably between locations while we search for clear, dark skies far from the city's light.
When the aurora appears, there is no coach schedule pushing us onward. We stop, we wait, and we let the night unfold. Your guide also photographs you beneath the lights — something far better than a phone snapshot to take home.
Aurora guarantee
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and can never be guaranteed. If no aurora is seen during your tour, you are welcome to join us again free of charge, subject to availability.
What to bring
Dress considerably warmer than for daytime sightseeing — much of the night is spent standing outside waiting for the sky. Thermal layers, a winter jacket, gloves, hat and warm footwear are strongly recommended.

Duration is approximately 5–7 hours, decided by the conditions on the night rather than the clock.
